I have the honour to inform you that on
the 14th.November last the post of Chinese Clerk and Translator
to the Supreme Court became vacant owing to the resignation of
Mr.Mok-Man-Cheung. On that date Sir Henry Blake appointed Mr.
Wong-Kwok-Ü, a master in Queen's College, bo the vacancy in
question, on six months probation.. As on the completion of that
period the Registrar of the Supreme Court recommended that
· Mr.Wong should be confirmed in the appointment, I have pro-
visionally appointed him to the permanent post and have to
request your confirmation of my action.
2. The salary attached to the post is $840
per annum rising by annual increments of $120 to $1,200 per
annum. Mr.Wong should be considered as having earned the first
increment from November 15vh. next.
